Finger Exercises for New Guitar Players
Playing guitar asks your hands to do some pretty un-natural things. Let’s face it, our hands evolved to hold and use tools and put food in our mouth, not to hold down steel wires in precise patterns.
If your just starting and you’re frustrated that your fingers won’t do what you want them to, the best fix is to keep practicing every day.
But here are some exercises that you can do with your left hand when your not practicing that will help your guitar playing. You can do them at your desk, in class, or watching TV
Stretch – GENTLE!!!
Tip to tip
If your hand gets tired too quickly holding down the strings you can strengthen your over all grip by squeezing a cheap rubber ball or tennis ball. Squeeze slowly, feel your muscles work, release slowly. Try three sets of 5, resting a minute in between.
